Getting organized and digging in

My old external hard drive is hooked up and playing nicely with the new external drive (no jealousy issues or feelings of inferiority from the 350 MB upon meeting the 1 TB drive). I’ve reintegrated the various works in progress into the main file tree.

I reviewed the work to date on M. Rohr’s 1957 Pattern Drafting and Grading. Since I don’t want to go back to the beginning and re-work it, there will be some stylistic and formatting inconsistencies. (I’ve been gnawing on this particular book off and on over the hiatus.) It is chock full o’ drawings and quite lengthy.

There are some classic styles throughout. The pointed hood is…interesting. Perhaps a “junior” could pull off this look. I enjoy the contrast of the turned-back lining and have made a note to incorporate it into a less extreme hooded garment.

Work accomplished: Images cleaned, clipped, cropped, and inserted into pages 69 through 82.

Resuming!

As explained in What’s New, we’re resuming operations. This blog is an experiment to see if you are interested in the progress of the various works, and a way to reassure you that progress is being made, even if it is quite slow.

While WordPress (my chosen blog platform) has a friendly user interface, there is still some code tweaking that must be done and a whole new arena of RSS feeds and comment moderation for me to learn.

Also, what voice is appropriate? The nonprofit corporate “we” and “our”? The single-person operator “I” and “my”? Or the dreary passive neutral?

Any preference? I will probably fluctuate between corporate and single person, depending on the subject.

Site traffic has remained steady despite the three-year stasis. I thank you all for your patience.
